A day in history. Nine years ago, Klopp became Liverpool's head coach

Today, October 8th, is a special day for Liverpool fans, and here’s why.
Details: On October 8th, 2015, exactly nine years ago, German manager Jürgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool’s head coach. Since then, the club has entered one of the most successful periods in its history.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach quickly transformed the team, making them Manchester City’s main rival in the Premier League title race.
Under Klopp’s leadership, Liverpool won the Premier League for the first time in their history and secured the Champions League title in the 2018/19 season. The Reds also reached the Champions League final twice, though they were defeated on both occasions by Real Madrid.
Klopp departed Liverpool at the end of last season, leaving before the expiration of his contract due to burnout and taking a break from coaching.
Klopp’s Record at Liverpool
- 489 matches
- 304 wins
- 100 draws
- 85 losses
- 2.07 points per game
- 8 trophies
Reminder: In the current season, Liverpool is being managed by Dutchman Arne Slot. The team has won 9 of their first 10 matches, marking the best managerial debut in the club’s history.
