Liverpool have stepped up their search for a long-term attacking reinforcement on the Portuguese transfer market.

Details: According to A Bola, the Merseyside club are closely monitoring the performances of Porto's 20-year-old Brazilian winger William Gomes ahead of a potential transfer.

The promising forward recently extended his contract with the Dragons until 2031. The new deal includes a significant increase in his release clause: as early as next summer, the buyout fee for the player will stand at €100 million.

Last summer, Atlético Madrid were among the clubs showing the strongest interest in signing Gomes. However, Liverpool scouts have now entered the race, rating the Brazilian highly for his dribbling, pace and potential.

The Portuguese giants feel confident thanks to the player's long-term contract and intend to let him leave only on highly favourable financial terms.

It is worth noting that William Gomes has been playing for Porto since 2024, having moved to Europe from São Paulo. The reputable Transfermarkt portal currently values the 20-year-old forward at €30 million.
