Bruno Fernandes to Al-Hilal? Will the transfer happen?
Manchester United fans have received encouraging news about the future of their captain, Bruno Fernandes.
Details: According to renowned journalist Ben Jacobs, Saudi giants Al-Hilal will not make another attempt to sign the Portuguese midfielder, despite growing uncertainty surrounding his future at Old Trafford. The club has reportedly decided against renewing its pursuit of the 32-year-old playmaker.
Al-Hilal came extremely close to signing Fernandes in the summer of 2025, offering the Portuguese international a lucrative contract. However, after discussing the proposal with his family, the midfielder ultimately decided to remain at Manchester United and continue competing at the highest level.
Interestingly, recent reports had suggested that the Saudi club was preparing a fresh £45 million bid for Fernandes in January. However, Jacobs' latest information contradicts those claims. According to talkSPORT, Al-Hilal have already filled their foreign-player slots, making another attempt to sign the midfielder unlikely.
Meanwhile, Fernandes' long-term future at Manchester United remains unresolved, with negotiations over a new contract having reached an impasse. The Portuguese star has not yet agreed to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
It is worth noting that Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting CP in January 2020. His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, while the English club retains an option to extend the agreement for another season.
