Tottenham have won the race to sign the European champion

With a lost Champions League run, Tottenham can hardly take the past season as an asset, but Spurs are active in the transfer market in search of reinforcements and want to see the strongest players in their squad.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the London club have agreed a contract with Juventus striker Federico Chiesa, who does not fit into the plan of new head coach Thiago Motta.
The European champion with Italy has been offered a four-year deal with a salary in the region of five million pounds a year and the offer has received a positive response from the 26-year-old's representatives.
Roma and Chelsea were also reportedly in the running for Chiesa, who would be paid in the region of €25 million, but recent reports suggest that those clubs have dropped out of the race for the forward, leaving Tottenham as the only clear suitors.
