Juventus are determined to bring more Italian talent back to Turin.

Details: According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have not abandoned their interest in Liverpool centre-back Giovanni Leoni. The Italian giants made an enquiry over a possible loan move in recent months, but Liverpool refused to open negotiations and made it clear that they were not ready to let the 19-year-old defender leave.

That rejection has not changed Juventus' plans. The Turin club want to strengthen the Italian core of their squad and Leoni remains one of the names high on their list. Technical director Frederic Massara and sporting director Marco Ottolini are reportedly planning to have scouts monitor the young centre-back every week once he returns to action.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are waiting for Leoni to complete his recovery from the serious knee injury he suffered last season. The defender is expected to move closer to a return after the international break, meaning Juventus will soon have an opportunity to assess his condition and development before deciding whether to make another move.

It is worth noting that Leoni joined Liverpool from Parma in August 2025 and remains under contract until June 2031. Transfermarkt currently values the 19-year-old Italian centre-back at €25 million.
