Dani Carvajal is one step away from an unexpected new chapter in Madrid.

Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Getafe have reached a verbal agreement to sign Dani Carvajal as a free agent. The 34-year-old right-back has already completed his medical tests, and the transfer has received the famous here we go.

However, the deal cannot yet be officially announced. Getafe are still waiting for LaLiga to approve the operation under the competition's financial control limits. Once that green light arrives, the club will be ready to confirm the signing.

Spanish outlet AS has also reported that Getafe president Ángel Torres confirmed Carvajal had already passed his medical and that an agreement between the parties was in place, with LaLiga approval remaining the final step.

It is worth noting that Carvajal ended his extraordinary Real Madrid career after the 2025/26 season. The defender made 450 official appearances for Los Blancos, scored 14 goals and won 27 trophies, including six European Cups.
