Messi is saying goodbye to Argentina with words that sound like the end of an era.

Details: Lionel Messi has delivered an emotional message ahead of his final appearance for the Argentina national team. The legendary captain is preparing to wear the Albiceleste shirt for the last time in the farewell friendly against Benin at the Monumental in Buenos Aires.

Messi addressed the supporters with a deeply personal farewell:

“The moment has arrived. I leave in peace, I gave it my all. This shirt was my dream, my pride, and my life. Thank you for loving me so much. I will always carry you with me.”

The message comes only hours before one of the most emotional nights in Argentine football history. The 39-year-old will lead the national team out against Benin as the Monumental prepares to bid farewell to the player who has been the face and captain of the Albiceleste for an entire generation.

It is worth noting that, according to the Argentine Football Association, Messi has made 207 senior appearances for Argentina and scored a record 125 goals. The match against Benin is set to become his 208th and final appearance for the national team.
