The Nigerian billionaire explained why he abandoned the idea of purchasing Arsenal

Africa's richest man, Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, is a devoted fan of Arsenal Football Club. In 2019, he considered the possibility of purchasing the club, but this is unlikely to happen now.
Details: In an interview with Bloomberg, the magnate revealed that he has abandoned the idea of buying Arsenal because the club has increased in value.
Quote: "I regret not buying it earlier, but at that time, my funds were needed to complete my project. I don’t have that kind of excess liquidity to go and buy a club for $4 billion," Dangote stated.
He suggested that this is approximately Arsenal's current valuation, adding that a few years ago, he could have purchased it for $2 billion.
Dangote planned to acquire Arsenal after completing the construction of his oil refinery. This year, the $20 billion facility began producing diesel and aviation fuel, as well as refining gasoline.
Reminder: Premier League club Everton has new owners. Everton is now under the ownership of Blue Heaven Holdings and the Friedkin Group, which also owns AS Roma.
