On the home stretch. Arsenal leader set to sign new contract with the club
Talks between Arsenal and Declan Rice over a new contract are progressing positively. A full agreement has not yet been reached, but all parties remain optimistic and expect to conclude negotiations in the near future, reports caughtoffside.
At the same time, the London club's management is facing a far more uncertain situation regarding three other key players. The players in question are Kai Havertz, David Raya and team captain Martin Ødegaard. Their current contracts with the Gunners run until 2028, but there is considerably less clarity over the players' long-term futures.
According to the source, expectations have repeatedly been voiced in recent months that talks with these players would begin soon. However, the situation has barely changed, and there are still no new details regarding their contracts.
The delay in negotiations does not yet mean that the parties will be unable to reach an agreement. Various circumstances may be affecting the process, but Arsenal will not want to postpone a resolution for too long—especially given Havertz, Raya and Ødegaard's status in the current squad.
