As expected, Everton Football Club has officially changed ownership as of today.
Details: Everton has been acquired by Blue Heaven Holdings and the Friedkin Group, who are also the owners of AS Roma. Earlier reports suggested that American billionaire John Textor was in the running to purchase the club, but the offer from Friedkin's company proved to be more attractive.
“We aim to bring stability to the club and share our vision for its future, including the completion of Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock,” stated the new owners.
Reminder: Everton has yet to secure a win this season in the Premier League. After five rounds, they have only one point and currently sit 19th in the table.
Last season, Everton was docked eight points due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) violations.
