The former PSG and European clubs' defender has passed away at the age of 39

Today, it was announced that former Paris Saint-Germain, Leicester City, and Ivory Coast national team defender, Sol Bamba, has passed away at the age of 39.
The news was confirmed by the press service of Adanaspor, where Bamba was serving as the club’s technical director. He had traveled with the team for an away match against Manisa, but on August 30th, his health took a turn for the worse. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Sol's life could not be saved.
It is worth noting that in 2021, Bamba was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a malignant cancer of the lymphatic system. However, the former footballer overcame the disease after undergoing chemotherapy and even managed to play another season for Middlesbrough.
Bamba was a product of PSG’s youth academy but only made one appearance for the first team. He went on to play in Scotland for Dunfermline Athletic and Hibernian, in England for Leicester City, Leeds United, Cardiff City, and Middlesbrough, as well as in Turkey for Trabzonspor and in Italy for Palermo.
He reached the Scottish Cup final with Dunfermline, became the Championship runner-up with Cardiff, and with the Ivory Coast national team, he made it to the final of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
