A truly unpleasant situation.
Details: The English Football Association has delivered its verdict regarding 33-year-old Swindon Town captain Ollie Clarke, who, during the Carabao Cup match against Cardiff City, touched opponents in intimate areas.
According to the commission, Clarke violated the rules twice—once in the 57th minute and again in the 94th—when he made inappropriate contact with players from the opposing team. The main referee did not notice these actions during the match and did not penalize Clarke, but after the final whistle, Cardiff players approached the referee and reported the incidents.
The fact that both episodes occurred within the same match served as an aggravating factor, resulting in a seven-match suspension for Clarke.
Swindon Town denies their captain’s involvement in such actions and has announced that they will fully support him during the period of his suspension.
Despite everything, Swindon Town lost that match 1-2.
