After ten months of negotiations, Barcelona and the American company Nike have agreed to extend their contract until 2038. However, the new deal will not resolve all of Barcelona's financial issues.
Details: Barcelona will still be unable to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor after December 31. This is because the club can only use around €11 million of the new income from the Nike contract, as a significant portion of the funds is already allocated to the current season's budget. This was reported by AS.
It’s worth noting that the previous contract was set to run until 2028. Under the new agreement, Barcelona will receive approximately €1.7 billion over 14 years, contingent on meeting all the terms of the deal.
Dani Olmo joined Barcelona this summer from German side RB Leipzig. According to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee was €55 million, and registering the player for the first part of the season was a major struggle.
