Reinforcements coming? Manchester United make offer for Barcelona player
Manchester United have submitted a €40 million bid to Barcelona for left-back Alejandro Balde. According to journalist David Ornstein, negotiations over the Spanish defender have been ongoing for several days.
The Red Devils’ interest in Balde intensified after their unexpected 0-2 defeat to Hull City in the opening round of the Premier League. United are determined to strengthen their left flank and view the Barcelona defender as a top priority signing.
Ornstein reports that Balde himself has decided to leave the Catalan club. His agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in talks with Manchester United representatives for the past three days regarding a possible transfer.
Barcelona are willing to let the 22-year-old go for the proposed €40 million. Now, much will depend on whether United can agree personal terms with Balde and finalize the deal.
It’s worth noting that Balde is a Barcelona academy graduate and has regularly featured in the first team in recent seasons. The Spaniard is known for his pace and attacking runs down the wing, making him an ideal option to reinforce Manchester United’s flank.
