Manchester United finds an alternative to Hall. Bundesliga star could join the Premier League
Manchester United has identified a new transfer target for the left-back position after unsuccessful negotiations for Newcastle’s Lewis Hall. The Mancunians are determined to strengthen their defensive flanks before the summer transfer window closes.
According to Football Insider, one of the main candidates now is David Raum. The 28-year-old German defender has been performing at a high level in the Bundesliga for several years and could be a more attainable alternative to Hall.
A potential move to Manchester United could be a major step forward in Raum’s career. The English club remains one of the most renowned in the world, and playing at Old Trafford would give the defender a chance to test himself in the Premier League.
At the same time, Raum could bring quality to the team not only in defense but also with his attacking runs down the flank. Now, Manchester United must decide whether the club is ready to make a concrete offer for the German footballer.
As a reminder, the Red Devils had shown interest in Hall, but Newcastle is unwilling to let the player go for less than £60 million. That price tag forced United to turn their attention to other options.
