Yesterday’s La Liga Matchday 28 clash against Elche was special not just because of the result, but for the trust shown in Real Madrid’s youth.
Details: Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa didn’t hesitate to field four academy prospects at once: Thiago Pitarcha, Daniel Yañez, Diego Aguado, and Manuel Ángel Morán.
After the final whistle, Arbeloa—himself a product of the club’s academy—couldn’t hide his delight and pride in this new generation of Los Blancos.
“I can die in peace after seeing all these academy boys on the pitch. Putting faith in them is incredibly important. Having homegrown players in the squad is absolutely vital for the team,” said Arbeloa.
The coach emphasized that the youngsters’ appearance wasn’t just a necessity due to injuries, but a recognition of their merit and commitment to the club:
"They’ve earned this with their hard work, values, and that special Real Madrid DNA running through their veins," the coach added.
It’s worth noting that one of the academy graduates even got on the scoresheet with an assist last night—midfielder Daniel Yañez. The match itself ended in a comfortable 4-1 win for the Madrid side.
Reminder: Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a major bid to sign Galatasaray’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
