Star Norwegian forward Erling Haaland of Manchester City has resumed training ahead of the FA Cup match against Huddersfield. However, he remains in insufficient condition to grace the field. City's tactician, Pep Guardiola, has consistently asserted that he will not take undue risks with Haaland. This stance seems unwavering, considering Haaland has been absent from the pitch since the onset of December. Furthermore, City grapples with issues concerning another pivotal player, as John Stones remains sidelined due to a leg injury.

Addressing the media, Guardiola succinctly stated:

"Erling is absent, and John is absent."

Expanding on the details of Haaland's injury, Guardiola elucidated:

"It's a bone. It requires time. With every injury, you can do anything, but it's a matter of time. Everything is fine, but the medical staff decided to pause for a week and possibly resume work later in Abu Dhabi. I hope, by the end of this month, he will be ready. It was a bit longer than we initially anticipated. We need him. Hopefully, he can return and play the last four or five months without issues."

Guardiola also expressed hopes for Jack Grealish's swift return post-infection and expressed admiration for Kevin De Bruyne's performance in the Belgian's first game after a five-month spell on the sidelines.
