Manchester City brushed aside Exeter in their FA Cup third-round clash, showing no mercy as they stormed to a 10-1 victory and etched their names in the competition's history books.
Goals came from Alleyne, Rodri, Semenyo, Reijnders, O’Reilly and McAidoo. Rico Lewis bagged a brace, while Exeter players also netted two own goals to compound their misery.
The Citizens became the first top-flight club to score 10 goals in any competition since Liverpool thrashed Fulham 10-0 in the League Cup back in 1986. In the FA Cup, the last team to achieve such a feat was Tottenham Hotspur, who dismantled Crewe 13-2 in February 1960.
It's also worth noting that Manchester City have equalled Liverpool's record for the most consecutive home wins in FA Cup history. The Citizens have now won 16 straight matches at home in the competition, scoring a staggering 75 goals in that run.
