Manchester City are keeping close tabs on elite European talent while maintaining full confidence in their current squad depth.

Details: According to Football Insider, Manchester City are closely tracking Atlético Madrid winger Álex Baena, though an official transfer offensive in the upcoming January window is considered highly improbable. The English champions believe their attacking line is already sufficiently stacked following the summer arrivals of Iliman Ndiaye and Allan Elias.

Despite not planning an immediate winter raid, City's scouting department will keep the 25-year-old Spanish international firmly on their long-term shortlist of targets. The versatile playmaker remains widely admired for his creative vision, technical quality, and set-piece delivery in La Liga.

Should City decide to delay a potential move until next summer, they may face stiff domestic competition. Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also heavily linked with the Spanish attacker and are monitoring his situation in the Spanish capital.

It is worth noting that according to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old Spanish winger's current market value stands at €40 million.
