Details: Manchester City are monitoring PSG defender Willian Pacho and considering a move for the Ecuadorian. The complication is significant: the 24 year old has just signed a contract extension in Paris, keeping him tied to the Parc des Princes until 2031 after a renewal announced on Friday.
The interest is easy to understand. Pacho has become one of Europe's elite centre backs since his €45 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2024, winning the Champions League and two Ligue 1 titles with Luis Enrique's side and earning a place in FIFA's team of the year. The first Ecuadorian in PSG's history, he was also a standout at the 2026 World Cup despite La Tri's round of 32 exit. For Enzo Maresca's City, fresh off a record £440 million summer headlined by Enzo Fernandez, a left-footed defender of his profile fits perfectly. PSG, though, hold all the cards with that new deal, and any approach would demand an astronomical fee to even start the conversation.
It's worth noting that Real Madrid and Liverpool have also tracked Pacho over the past year, so if the door ever opens, a three way battle of giants awaits.
