Kaizer Chiefs secure their Caf Confederation Cup spot with two games to spare
Kaizer Chiefs have secure the third spot in the Betway Premiership which will see them play in Caf Confederation Cup next season.
Amakhosi beat Sekhukhune United 2-0 this evening at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium with goals coming from Tashreeq Morris and Mfundo Vilakazi.
Interestingly, both players scored their first goals of the season which ensured three points for the Soweto side.
The third place finish for Chiefs is something both coaches Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have been vocal about given the pressure which came with taking charge of the team.
Chiefs are now on the third spot with 51 points and there is no chance AmaZulu, who are on the fourth spot can reach that mark as they are 44 points with two games left.
This leaves Arthur Zwane with the hope of finish on the fourth spot but Sekhukhune United are fifth which poses a danger for Zwane's Usuthu as they have been a decent season.
Amakhosi were the dominant team in Polokwane with Glody Lilepo causing problems for Babina Noko's defence.
This means that interim coach Paulus Masehe has only managed one win in the three games he has been in charge of since taking over from the sacked Eric Tinkler.
