Paulus Masehe says he cannot fault Sekhukhune United players for losing out on the third spot

Paulus Masehe is not interested in shifting the blame to Sekhukhune United players for the team's failure to finish on the third spot.

Masehe, who is in charge of Babina Noko on interim basis, said the team deserved more than the third place actually even though they have to fight for the fourth spot now.

Eric Tinkler was let go by the Betway Premiership side's hierarchy as they felt the third spot is beyond reach.

Their conquerors yesterday, kaizer Chiefs, did not only beat them 2-0 at New Peter Mokaba Stadium but also beat them to the third spot.

“To be honest, for the players, you feel like at least it’s a little bit disappointing because they remained among the top pack for the longest time in this season,” he said.

“And they would have deserved maybe to finish at number three or number four. But we still have a chance we can finish number four.

“And of which I think it will be fair for us, for them also, because they have worked extremely hard. They deserve something better this season and they gave everything. I cannot fault anyone.

“The effort was there, the mistakes that happened, mistakes of the game of football, that you can make mistake on the other end and you get punished on the other end.

“But as for the boys, I wish that we can just win these two games and we finish number four. So that we can complement their good effort this season.”
