Now nothing stands in James’s way as he prepares for a full-fledged debut in American soccer.

Details: According to L’Équipe, the 34-year-old Colombian attacking midfielder for Minnesota, James Rodríguez, has finally secured his work visa for the United States, meaning immigration service (ICE) issues are no longer a threat.

Recently, America has been rocked by scandals involving ICE, known for its tough stance on undocumented migrants and people without valid reasons to remain in the United States. After Rodríguez signed with Minnesota earlier this February, his eligibility to work in the US came under scrutiny, as the Colombian star did not yet have a work visa.

Fearing pressure from ICE, Minnesota’s management did everything possible to ensure James obtained legal status to stay in the US and play football as soon as possible.

Earlier, James stated he dreams of making the Colombia national team squad for the 2026 World Cup, as this tournament will likely be his last in the national colors.

Reminder: OFFICIAL. James Rodríguez will continue his career at an MLS club
