Emotions boiled over between two of MLS's biggest names in Chicago.

Details: Robert Lewandowski and Rodrigo De Paul became involved in a heated confrontation during Chicago Fire's home match against Inter Miami at Soldier Field. The incident occurred late in the game, when tensions on the pitch were already running high. After Lewandowski was brought down and reacted to the challenge, De Paul approached the Polish striker, and the two players went chest-to-chest before exchanging shoves.

The verbal exchange quickly attracted attention as well. According to footage shared on social media, De Paul shouted at Lewandowski:

“Who are you? DUMMY! I have won 2 Copa Americas and 1 World Cup, and you?!”.

Other players soon moved closer as the argument continued, preventing the confrontation from escalating further.

The clash added extra drama to a match packed with star power. Chicago Fire and Inter Miami eventually finished 1-1. Lewandowski had opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half, while Casemiro equalized for the visitors shortly after the break.

It is worth noting that Lewandowski's goal against Inter Miami was his sixth in the 2026 MLS regular season. The Polish striker joined Chicago Fire this summer, while De Paul currently represents Inter Miami.
