Morocco star Brahim Díaz has written his name into the history books after becoming the first African player to record four assists in a single FIFA World Cup.

The attacking midfielder reached the remarkable milestone during Morocco's convincing 3-0 victory over Canada in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Díaz played a decisive role in the Atlas Lions' qualification for the quarterfinals, providing two assists in the knockout encounter. He first set up Azzedine Ounahi for Morocco's second goal before creating the opportunity for Soufiane Rahimi to score the third deep into stoppage time and put the result beyond doubt.

The two assists took Díaz's tournament tally to four, making him the first African footballer to achieve the feat in a single edition of the FIFA World Cup.
