Wow! World champion says he deserves to win the Ballon d'Or
Fabián Ruiz is no longer hiding his ambitions.
Details: Paris Saint-Germain and Spain midfielder Fabián Ruiz has openly declared that he is aiming for the Ballon d'Or this year. The world champion stressed that, after collecting the biggest trophies at team level, he now wants his achievements to be recognised with football's most prestigious individual award.
Ruiz made his position perfectly clear:
“Collectively, I have won everything! After all the work I have put in, the only thing missing is an individual trophy: the Ballon d'Or. It would give me the recognition I deserve.”
The Spaniard's confidence comes at a time when his name is increasingly being mentioned in discussions surrounding the award. PSG head coach Luis Enrique recently also highlighted Ruiz while speaking about potential Ballon d'Or contenders from his squad.
It is worth noting that Ruiz remains a Paris Saint-Germain player and recently extended his contract with the French champions until 2028, with an option for a further year. He has been with the Parisian club since 2022.
