Amir Bouhamdi has made his choice between Morocco and the Netherlands

The young PSV Eindhoven winger is reported to have chosen to represent the country of his origins.

Amir Bouhamdi has reportedly settled the matter of his international future once and for all. The 18-year-old is said to have informed the Royal Dutch Football Association of his decision to represent Morocco on the international stage, thereby definitively ruling out the Netherlands as an option.

The governing body of Dutch football had, however, contacted Amir Bouhamdi in the hope of convincing him to join the Dutch national team. Nevertheless, the 18-year-old winger is said to have chosen to continue his international career with the Atlas Lions. He is reported to have already communicated his decision to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Amir Bouhamdi was born in the Netherlands but is of Moroccan descent. He played for Dutch youth teams before being called up for the first time to Morocco’s Under-20s last March. But he has now definitively turned his back on the Netherlands to represent Morocco on the international stage.
