Today, global football legend Andrés Iniesta officially announced his retirement from professional football, and his future plans have already been revealed.
Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, Iniesta is set to begin a coaching career. He is expected to announce this decision tomorrow during his farewell press conference.
Furthermore, Iniesta aims to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Xavi, who immediately became the head coach of Qatari club Al-Sadd. The former midfielder also aspires to coach at the senior level and is open to receiving offers.
Reminder: Iniesta's last club was FC Emirates from the UAE. He spent his entire European career at Barcelona, and after leaving his boyhood club, he played for Vissel Kobe in Japan for five years.
As a player, Iniesta won the UEFA Champions League four times, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and two European Championships.
