Roma are in the market for a striker and have made an attempt to negotiate a loan deal for Joshua Zirkzee without an obligation to buy, but Manchester United immediately turned down this option. The Red Devils' management insists strictly on a permanent transfer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is reported that the English side are willing to part ways with the forward, but only for a fee of at least €45 million. This season, the Dutch attacker has struggled for consistent playing time, featuring in just nine matches and scoring only once.
Roma's interest in Zirkzee has been known for a while. The Giallorossi need a mobile striker capable not only of finishing attacks but also contributing to the build-up play. The Dutchman fits this profile thanks to his ball control, ability to find space between the lines, and knack for creating opportunities for teammates—qualities highly valued by Gasperini.
