Just hours after his RB Leipzig move collapsed, Marc Casadó has found a new home, and it is one of the romantic stories of the Spanish window.

Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, Deportivo La Coruna have reached a verbal agreement with Barcelona to sign the 22 year old midfielder, here we go. The deal is an initial loan with a €30 million buy option clause, and Casadó is yet to sign the contract as formal steps follow.

The La Masia graduate, at the club since 2016 and under contract until June 2028, leaves in search of the regular minutes he never quite locked down: 24 La Liga appearances and 1 assist last season, 75 senior games in total. Barcelona had asked for €30 to 40 million all summer, rejected an Al-Hilal offer, and saw the midfielder turn down Manchester City and Chelsea in July because he wanted to play every week. Leipzig thought they had him tonight before the deal fell through, and Depor, back in La Liga after eight long years away, pounced to make him their second luxury signing of the day after Santiago Giménez. At Riazor he will finally be a protagonist, not a rotation option.

It's worth noting that the €30 million option would smash Deportivo's transfer record if activated, a measure of how strongly the Galicians believe in Casadó's ceiling.

Reminder: Here we go! Fulham reach agreement to sign Real Madrid midfielder Manuel Ángel.
