Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, the agreement includes a staggering €500 million release clause, underlining the 19-year-old's status as a key part of the club's long-term sporting project.
The need to set such substantial terms has been driven by the heightened interest in the young talent from leading European clubs. Several Premier League sides, as well as Atlético Madrid, were monitoring the player during the previous transfer window, but the Blaugrana intend to completely shut down any attempts to lure their academy graduate away.
The midfielder's current contract runs until 2029, but his successful recovery from a serious injury and the coaching staff's trust in him have accelerated the process of renewing the agreement. The official announcement and formal signing of the contract are expected immediately after the current international break.
This season, the footballer has made 13 appearances, registering two assists. Transfermarkt values the youngster at €40 million.
