JJ Gabriel has given the clearest indication yet of where he wants to continue his career.

Details: During an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca, the 16-year-old Manchester United talent was handed a copy of the newspaper featuring his potential move to Real Madrid on the front page. Journalists then asked Gabriel which club he preferred: Real Madrid or Barcelona. The youngster didn't hesitate for a second, replying:

"Obviously, Real Madrid."

Gabriel appeared delighted with the newspaper and even asked the journalists if he could keep the copy. His reaction was particularly revealing, as both Spanish giants had previously been linked with the highly rated English forward.

According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid have already reached a verbal agreement with Gabriel and are hoping to complete his signing in January 2027. However, the transfer has not yet been officially finalized, with legal and registration matters still to be resolved.

The young attacker requested to leave Manchester United in September and has since been training individually in Spain. During his conversation with Marca, Gabriel also revealed his biggest personal ambition: to win the Ballon d'Or.

It's worth noting that Gabriel was named the inaugural Under-18 Premier League Player of the Season in 2025/26. At the time the award was announced, the forward had scored 20 goals in just 21 league appearances.
