Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres was summoned to court as a witness in a defamation case in Sweden. However, the club refused to release the player, forcing the legal proceedings to be postponed.
Details: According to Expressen, the striker was expected to attend hearings in the case of agent Hasan Cetinkaya, who represents the interests of the Swedish forward. Cetinkaya has sued two Swedish publications, accusing them of spreading false information about his agency’s alleged links to criminal organizations. The agent firmly denies all allegations and is determined to clear his name in court.
As a result, the proceedings were postponed specifically due to Gyökeres’ inability to attend.
The player himself has had a mixed start to the season: in 18 matches for Arsenal, he has scored six goals as he strives to establish himself as the Gunners’ key striker. In the coming weeks, Arsenal will face Wolverhampton, Everton, Brighton, and Aston Villa, making any player loss potentially critical. Both the club and the player are currently focused on upcoming results, while the Swedish legal matter remains on hold indefinitely.
It’s worth noting that Arsenal currently lead the Premier League, holding a two-point advantage over Manchester City.
Reminder: Arsenal winger Noni Madueke was named Champions League Player of the Week.
