Everton has suffered a massive deadline-day heartbreak in their pursuit of a marquee striker.

Details: According to The Athletic, Folarin Balogun's anticipated transfer from Monaco to Everton has completely collapsed at the final hurdle. Contract terms with the 25-year-old forward were revised following complications that arose during his medical examination and documentation submission, which prompted the player to abruptly walk away.

The United States international decided not to accept the altered conditions presented by the Merseyside club. Balogun departed Finch Farm without signing the contract, leaving the Toffees empty-handed despite earlier agreements.

The clubs had previously finalized terms on a total package worth €50 million including add-ons, but the last-minute disagreement ended all hopes of sealing the blockbuster Premier League return.

It is worth noting that according to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old American striker's market value currently stands at €50 million.

Reminder: Official: Jack Grealish has found a new club!
