Total domination! Manuel Neuer delivers brutal verdict after Bayern destroy Atletico Madrid
Manuel Neuer has delivered a powerful message after Bayern Munich's impressive Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid! The legendary German goalkeeper believes his team completely dominated the Spanish giants from beginning to end, leaving Diego Simeone's players without answers.
Details: Bayern secured a convincing 2-0 victory at the Metropolitano on November 3. Speaking after the final whistle, Neuer described the performance as complete domination from the first minute until the 93rd. He also insisted that Bayern had an answer for everything Atletico attempted throughout the encounter.
Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Bayern had to wait until the second half to open the scoring. In the 54th minute, 18-year-old Lennart Karl capitalised on hesitation in Atletico's defence and cleverly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
Konrad Laimer doubled the advantage in the 74th minute after receiving a pass from Harry Kane. The Austrian midfielder finished confidently, effectively ending Atletico's hopes of recovering. Bayern produced 19 shots and maintained control for long periods against a team renowned for its defensive organisation.
The result was particularly impressive considering Bayern's injury problems. Neuer returned after missing three matches with a foot injury, while Michael Olise was fit enough to start despite recent knee concerns. With Vincent Kompany absent through illness, assistant Aaron Danks oversaw the victory. Bayern also kept a clean sheet against an Atletico side that had been unbeaten in ten matches.
Reminder: Bayern had previously received encouraging news when Neuer and Olise returned to training before the Atletico clash.
