Shocking! PSG manager admits it's a battle against Villarreal
Luis Enrique has acknowledged the unique challenges of facing Villarreal in their upcoming Champions League match, despite his team's recent dominance over the Spanish side.
Details: Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has emphasized the difficulty of facing Villarreal, a team known for its resilience and tactical discipline.
In a recent interview, Luis Enrique spoke about the upcoming Champions League match between PSG and Villarreal, highlighting the need for his team to remain focused and prepared for a tough battle. Despite PSG's recent 2-0 victory over Villarreal in La Liga earlier this year, Enrique made it clear that the Spanish side should not be underestimated.
That match, which took place on March 1, 2026, saw Barcelona dominate possession with 79% of the ball, but Villarreal still managed to create 14 shots, including three significant chances. Barcelona's formation of 4-3-3 with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha as wingers proved effective, while Villarreal lined up in a 4-4-2 formation with Nicolas Pépé and Ayoze Pérez as their main attacking threats.
Enrique has been vocal about the importance of maintaining high intensity throughout matches, a trait that has become a hallmark of his management style. He has consistently stressed the need for his players to remain vigilant and not take opponents for granted, even when they have a clear advantage.
It's worth noting that Barcelona's 2-0 win over Villarreal in La Liga was a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of their high-pressing tactics, which have since become a key component of PSG's playing style under Enrique's guidance.
Reminder: Battle of the English giants! Premier League trio chasing Villarreal wonderkid.
