Historic humiliation! PSG become only the second club in Champions League history to achieve incredible feat
PSG have rewritten Champions League history with a devastating performance against Spanish opposition.
Details: On Tuesday, November 3, Luis Enrique's side demolished Villarreal 6-0 away from home in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase. This extraordinary result made PSG only the SECOND club in the competition's history to defeat a Spanish team by a margin of six or more goals.
Before the Parisian giants, only Bayern Munich had managed such an astonishing achievement. In August 2020, the German powerhouse humiliated Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League quarter-finals, inflicting a historic six-goal defeat on the Catalans.
PSG needed less than 17 minutes to completely destroy Villarreal's defence. João Neves opened the scoring, followed by goals from Désiré Doué, Senny Mayulu and Fabián Ruiz. The Spaniard completed his brace shortly after the break, before 17-year-old David Boly sealed the remarkable 6-0 victory in the second half.
It's worth noting that PSG have now won all four of their Champions League matches this season. The French champions have collected 12 points and scored an incredible 20 goals in just four games, averaging five goals per match.
Reminder: Absolute madness! PSG score four goals in just 17 minutes in Champions League clash
