Porto blames a Saudi club for the transfer failure. They have lost a tidy sum

The manner in which Saudi Al-Ittihad operate in the transfer market does not please some European clubs who have failed to sell their players to the Middle Eastern team.
For example, Al-Ittihad recently signed Ajax striker Steven Bergwijn, but the Saudis were also in talks for Porto forward Wenderson Galeno, who was eventually rejected. This is what has perplexed the Portuguese football grandee, who issued a public statement:
‘In connection with the failed transfer of Wenderson Galeno to Al Ittihad, Porto informs that it will send a communication to the chairman of the club and the chairman of the Saudi Arabian League, expressing its deep dissatisfaction with the way the process was conducted and interrupted after a full agreement between the clubs and the player had been reached.
Porto is delighted to be able to count on the player Galeno in its ranks and reinforces its confidence in the professional's ability and motivation to continue the excellent play he has shown at Porto,’ read the statement.
Al-Ittihad are believed to have offered €50m for Galeno.
