Tottenham's start to the season has been disappointing. After four Premier League matches, De Zerbi's side have yet to win a game and have picked up just two points, leaving them just above the relegation zone. On Saturday, the Londoners drew with Everton at home, with the supporters booing the team after the final whistle.
At the same time, the club's hierarchy is taking into account the circumstances surrounding De Zerbi's work. Tottenham spent more than £300 million on new players in the summer, and they need time to adapt following a major squad overhaul. In addition, the coach is currently unable to call upon several key players.
De Zerbi himself admitted after the match that the team are suffering from a psychological barrier following last season. The Italian said that the lack of goals and wins was putting pressure on the players, but stressed that he believes in the quality of his team and their ability to turn the situation around.
