Roberto De Zerbi is refusing to hide from Tottenham's nightmare start to the new Premier League campaign.

Details: Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi commented on the difficult situation surrounding his team after another frustrating Premier League result. Spurs were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton and remain without a victory or a single goal after their opening four league matches. Speaking about the growing criticism, the Italian recalled the circumstances in which he arrived at the club last season and stressed that he has always tried to assess the situation realistically.

"I came here last season when the sh*t was like this. I have been positive but realistic. Now, I explain, I'm sorry for the results, but we played as a team," De Zerbi said.

The coach's words came after another difficult evening for Tottenham. The London side could not break down Everton at home and were once again left without a league goal, extending a disastrous attacking run that has immediately increased the pressure around the team and its head coach.

Despite the results, De Zerbi made it clear that he still sees signs of a collective performance and does not want the current situation to be judged only through the scorelines. However, Tottenham's numbers underline the scale of the problem: the club have failed to score in each of their first four Premier League matches of the season, something that had never happened before in their history.

It is worth noting that Tottenham have collected only two points from their opening four Premier League games and sit near the bottom of the table after two defeats and two goalless draws.

Reminder: De Zerbi's side fail to impress again. Tottenham set unwanted record
