The Senegalese champions have won both legs of the first qualifying round of Africa’s most prestigious club competition.

Teungueth FC dominated their Guinea-Bissau opponents, FC Canchungo. The Senegalese club had won the first leg 1–0 last weekend in Guinea-Bissau.The Senegalese confirmed their dominance on Sunday 13 September in the return leg.

Teungueth FC, playing in front of their home crowd, once again got the better of the Guinea-Bissau side at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium.The Rufisque-based club secured a narrow 1–0 victory. This win allows the Senegalese side to secure their place in the next round of the competition.

In the second preliminary round, Teungueth FC will face Colombe Sportive. The Cameroonian club knocked out Stade Malien on penalties in Bamako to continue their qualifying campaign.
This clash between the champions of Senegal and Cameroon promises to be a thrilling one.

Both clubs are aiming to reach the group stage of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League. This final preliminary round will also be played over two legs. The winner after these two legs will secure their place in the main phase of the CAF Champions League.
