Polish referees of the UEFA Champions League match got into trouble. They were taken by the police

On 6 August, the third qualifying round match of the Champions League between Dynamo Kyiv and Rangers will take place in Lublin, Poland. But before the game the key persons were not the players or coaches, but the referees of the meeting.
Or rather, the referees who were supposed to work in the VAR van, namely Bartosz Frankowski and Tomasz Musial. Still, they will not be involved in the meeting with a high probability. According to TVP Sport, the referees were detained by the police in Lublin at around 2am.
The reason is quite unusual. A police patrol met the referees drunk, and they were carrying a road sign with their companion.
Frankowski, who was to act as VAR referee, was found to have approximately 1.7 ppm of alcohol in his blood, while his assistant Musial had more alcohol in his blood - 1.8 ppm.
Both referees are now in a sobering-up centre and the police will soon charge them with defacing road infrastructure.
It is also unlikely that they will be at the meeting in Lublin. They are no longer listed as VAR referees on the UEFA website, and a replacement has already been identified. Also from Poland, but already in the form of Tomasz Kwiatkowski and Paweł Malec.
