Missed my last opportunity. Subimendi regrets failed transfer to Liverpool

Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi was once again on Liverpool's radar this summer. The Merseyside club wanted to sign the player, but after much deliberation, Zubimendi decided to stay with his current team - a decision he now reportedly regrets. Liverpool manager Arne Slot has stated that the club has accepted this outcome.
Details: Real Sociedad made efforts to retain Zubimendi but ultimately left the final decision up to the player. After some thought, the Spaniard chose to remain with the team, despite Liverpool’s willingness to pay his €60 million release clause. This decision disappointed Liverpool, and Slot acknowledged that they missed their opportunity.
According to Football Espana, Zubimendi has since regretted his decision and reached out to Liverpool, asking them to reconsider. However, it seems unlikely that the move will happen, as Slot mentioned there is "no point" in discussing it any further.
Quote: "There's no point in talking about Zubimendi anymore because he stayed at Real Sociedad. Besides, we've moved on and are very happy with Ryan Gravenberch," said Arne Slot.
Reminder: Martín Zubimendi is a product of Real Sociedad's youth academy, having made his first-team debut in 2019. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €50 million.
This summer, Liverpool took a relatively restrained approach in the transfer market. They signed only Federico Chiesa and also secured the services of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, though the Georgian was immediately loaned back to his former club.
