Details: Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike faced IShowSpeed in a live EA Sports FC 27 showdown, and the Frenchman proved far too much for the famous streamer. Ekitike defeated Speed twice in a row, with the second loss triggering an explosive reaction from his opponent.
After suffering his second consecutive defeat, IShowSpeed completely lost his temper. The streamer smashed his controller and began throwing things around the studio, while Ekitike could only laugh as he watched the chaos unfold from the other side of the call.
The story did not end with the final whistle in FC 27. Shortly afterwards, Speed changed the profile picture on his verified Instagram account to an image of Ekitike. The account currently has around 55.2 million followers, making the unexpected tribute impossible for his enormous audience to miss.
The duel had been building for several days after Speed and Ekitike previously discussed facing each other in FC 27. On October 3, the promised matchup finally took place during a broadcast titled RONALDO RETIRED??? + SPEED VS EKITIKE. It is worth noting that Ekitike is currently recovering from the Achilles tendon rupture he suffered with Liverpool in April. Liverpool's official website states that the injury ended a debut season in which the forward scored 17 goals, while recent reports indicate that he is targeting a return to action in December.
