Mats Hummels played a match with a red mark on his cheek. Why did he do this?

AS Roma faced Napoli away in the 13th round of Serie A, with Mats Hummels making his second appearance for the "Wolves." Fans noticed that Hummels took to the field with a red mark on his cheek, and the reason behind this has been revealed.
Details: The German center-back entered the match in the 46th minute, and fans quickly spotted the red mark on his face. However, Hummels was not the only player wearing such a mark over the weekend. The reason was a special league-wide campaign.
Serie A launched an initiative against violence toward women, with the slogan "Un rosso alla violenza," which translates to "A red card against violence." The campaign coincided with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, observed on Monday, November 25.
The initiative was also promoted with the hashtag #unrossoallaviolenza on social media. Notably, this international day of action has been recognized since 1981.
Reminder: Claudio Ranieri’s first match back as Roma’s head coach ended in disappointment as the Giallorossi fell 0-1 to Napoli. Despite the result, the veteran manager emphasized his optimism and readiness to work hard to achieve the club’s goals.
