Since the beginning of the season, Roma has already changed two head coaches. First, Daniele De Rossi was dismissed, and a few days ago, Ivan Jurić was also let go. Now, the "Wolves" have appointed a new specialist.
Details: The legendary Italian coach Claudio Ranieri has taken charge of the Rome-based team. His contract is set to last until the end of the current season. Ranieri had announced his retirement at the end of last season but decided to return for Roma.
It is noteworthy that at the end of the coaching contract, the specialist will remain at the club, but as a sports consultant. Roma, in turn, will continue to search for a head coach, and Ranieri will have his voice in this matter.
Reminder: Ranieri has already managed Roma twice, from 2009 to 2011 and again in 2019. This summer, Claudio announced his retirement from coaching.
Previously, it was reported that one of the main contenders to replace Jurić was Roberto Mancini. The former Italy national team and Manchester City manager has already held talks with Roma's leadership.
Erik ten Hag, recently dismissed from Manchester United, was also considered for the position. However, he was reportedly put off by the chaos at Roma and declined the offer.
