‘Less, but higher-quality’ Levy supported the idea of reducing the number of matches

The idea of reforming the football calendar has been on the lips of the players for a long time. They are supported by the coaches, but even the bosses of the clubs they play for are in favour of it, even though it could benefit the clubs financially.
Thus, Tottenham boss Daniel Levy agreed with the idea that there are too many matches now, expressing the idea that there should be fewer games, but their quality should increase:
‘I agree that there are too many games. But our problem, especially in England, is that we have extra cup competitions compared to the rest of Europe. The European competitions are the most important for the big teams in Europe, whereas we have the Premier League, which is the toughest league in the world, but we still want to do well in Europe.
We as a club would like to see fewer games but more quality games. So if that means we have to make some changes to some competitions, then so be it. I think ultimately it's in the long-term interests of the players,’ - quotes Levy The Evening Standard.
Recall, earlier it became known about the idea of player's strike who want to thus draw attention to the problem of overloaded calendar.
