Huge news coming out of the Catalan capital: Polish super-striker Robert Lewandowski has officially announced that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the current season.
Details: The 37-year-old forward delivered an emotional farewell statement, summing up his monumental four-year stint at Camp Nou. During this period, the Pole helped the club reclaim the summit of Spanish football and overcome a prolonged crisis.
"It's time to move on, mission accomplished. Four seasons, three league titles. I will never forget the love the fans gave me. Catalonia will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you to everyone I met during this stage. Thank you to Joan Laporta for allowing me to experience the most wonderful period of my career. Barcelona is back. Visca Barça, Visca Catalunya!" the Pole wrote.
Lewandowski leaves behind a colossal legacy and some truly staggering statistics. Wearing the blaugrana shirt, he played 190 matches, scoring 119 goals and providing 22 assists. His phenomenal scoring record was a key factor in securing trophies: three La Liga titles, three Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey.
On a personal note, Robert also claimed the prestigious Pichichi Trophy and made the team of the season on three occasions.
