Transfer of the summer draws closer! Arsenal star could leave for Al Hilal
Gabriel Martinelli is edging toward one of the most unexpected moves of the summer.
Details: According to renowned journalist David Ornstein, Al Hilal are pursuing a deal to sign Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli. Negotiations are ongoing both between the clubs and with the 25-year-old Brazilian. No agreement has been reached at this stage, while Arsenal are understood to want a fee in the region of £60 million for the player.
The most important development is Martinelli's position. The Brazil international is open to considering a move to Al Hilal, meaning the Saudi club have a genuine chance of taking negotiations further if they can find common ground with Arsenal.
This comes after the winger rejected the possibility of continuing his career in Turkey. Galatasaray had previously shown serious interest in Martinelli, but the Brazilian was not convinced by that option. The possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia, however, is now being considered by the player.
There is still plenty of work to be done before a transfer can be completed: Arsenal have not agreed a fee with Al Hilal, and talks remain ongoing. It is worth noting that Transfermarkt currently values the 25-year-old winger at €45 million. Martinelli has been an Arsenal player since 2019.
