The private jet carrying Algerian clubs MC Alger and CS Constantine finally landed in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, early Thursday morning after a 24-hour delay.
MC Alger is set to face Young Africans on Saturday in a must-win CAF Champions League clash to secure qualification to the quarter-finals alongside Sudan's Al Hilal. Meanwhile, CS Constantine will take on Simba SC in a decisive match for the top spot in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Both teams had to make an impromptu detour in Tamanrasset, southern Algeria, due to a lack of landing permission at Dar es Salaam airport, which caused the delay. Before continuing their journey, they trained there at the nearby stadium.
Even with the travel problems, both Algerian teams are focused on their goals in Tanzania, hoping to make a strong impact in their continental competitions.
